Building wires & LV power cables — built to IEC & BS standards

Send the bill of quantities as it stands. Power cable, building wire, control, LSZH or fire-performance — if a Gulf project can specify it, we will price it. And if it is not a standard we carry, we source it rather than send you back a polite no.

Product range

Three core lines — and the range behind them

These three carry most of the volume on a typical Gulf project. Behind them sits everything else a bill of quantities tends to call for, which we quote just as readily.

01 / POWER

LV Power Cables

Armoured and unarmoured low-voltage power cables for fixed distribution and sub-mains.

  • 0.6/1 kV (600/1000 V)

Building Wires

Single-core PVC-insulated wires — the highest-volume item on most residential and commercial jobs.

  • 450/750 V
  • BV & BVR constructions
  • IEC 60227 / BS 6004
  • 1.5 – 240 mm², full colour range

03 / LSZH

LSZH & Fire-Resistant

Low-smoke zero-halogen and fire-performance constructions for public buildings, tunnels and life-safety circuits.

  • LSZH armoured — BS 6724
  • LSZH unarmoured — BS 7211

Beyond the three lines above

A bill of quantities rarely stops at three items. Everything below is quoted the same way — send the standard, the size and the quantity, and we price against it.

Control cables, 0.6/1 kV · screened & unscreened Flexible cords — H05V-U · H07V-K · H05VV-F Fire-resistant power cable — IEC 60331 constructions Steel tape armour (STA) variants Aluminium conductor — YJLV · AWA for single-core AC Rubber-insulated & welding cable Instrumentation & signal cable Overhead & service-drop cable (ABC) Bare copper conductor & earthing wire

Not on this list? Send it anyway — a fair share of what we ship gets priced from a drawing or a single BOQ line, not from a catalogue. Send the item →

Copper & pricing

Copper is most of the cost — so we price it in the open

On a 0.6/1 kV copper cable the conductor is typically 60–70% of the delivered cost. That is why cable prices move when the metal moves — and why a quotation that does not say which copper price it used is a quotation you cannot compare.

What this means for your quotation

We quote the metal part of the price against the LME reference on the day you ask, and we put that date on the quotation. If you need the price held, tell us the window you are working to.

  • Every quotation states the copper basis and the date it was taken.
  • Cable price = conductor metal + insulation, armouring and sheathing conversion + packing and freight.
  • If the metal moves between quotation and order, you see the difference — it is not buried in the price.
  • The figure on the left is a market reference, not an offer.

Order of magnitude only — copper at 8.89 g/cm³ with a 1.02 stranding factor. It excludes scrap allowance, tolerance and every non-copper part of the construction, so it is deliberately not a cable price. Send the specification and we will give you one. Send the specification →

Inside the plant

The lines the cable actually comes off

Specifications are easy to write and easy to talk about. What a buyer cannot see from a price list is the stranding, the extrusion wall thickness, the armour lay and the drum marking. So we filmed it, on a working day, with no crew.

  • Copper stranding — class 2 conductor, laid up to the cross-section you asked for
  • Insulation & sheath extrusion — XLPE or PVC to standard wall thickness
  • Armouring — SWA or STA, with diameter and wire checked between passes
  • Drumming & marking — neutral marking available for own-brand orders

Why Silkoro

We read the specification, not just the price list

Most cable enquiries fail on detail — a standard that doesn't match, an armour type nobody confirmed, a sheath that won't survive the climate. Those are the things we check first.

01

Specification-literate

Class 2 stranded or Class 1 solid. SWA or STA. Full-size or reduced neutral. We confirm these before quoting, not after the order lands.

02

Rated for Gulf conditions

UV-resistant outer sheath, and current-carrying capacity corrected for 45–50°C ambient — because a European datasheet figure is not a Gulf figure.

03

OEM & private label

Your brand on the drum, your marking, your packaging. Standard items or built to your own drawing and specification.

04

Export paperwork handled

A customs-registered exporter. Invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and shipping documents issued correctly the first time.

Cooperation process

From enquiry to shipment

A short, predictable path. No stage depends on information you have to chase us for.

1

Send the specification

Standard, size, core count, sheath type, quantity and destination port.

2

Quotation in 12 hours

Price against a stated copper basis, with lead time and packing described.

3

Sample & verification

Samples for approval, and test reports where the project requires them.

4

Production & shipment

Manufacture, pre-shipment inspection and full export documentation.

Certification & market access

What we can evidence — and what your importer holds

We are precise about this, because imprecise compliance claims are what cause cargo to sit at a port. Below is exactly what is available today.

  • CE (LVD) declaration and CCC certification for the covered ranges
  • Manufactured to IEC 60502-1, IEC 60227, BS 5467 and BS 6724
  • Test reports available on request; third-party type tests arranged on project specification
  • A customs-registered exporter in China, with full export documentation
i
Conformity schemes such as UAE ECAS and Saudi SABER are held and filed by the importer of record in the destination market — not by the overseas manufacturer. We prepare and supply the technical file your importer needs to complete them, and we will tell you honestly what our documentation does and does not cover.
DOCUMENT PACK

Supplied with every shipment

  • Commercial invoice & packing list
  • Certificate of origin
  • Bill of lading / shipping documents
  • Mill test certificate on request
  • Fumigated (IPPC) wooden drums or pallets
  • Buyer's mark and shipping marks as instructed

Need a document we haven't listed? Ask. It is usually a question of lead time, not capability.

Common questions

Answers buyers ask for first

Which standards can you manufacture to?
0.6/1 kV power cables to IEC 60502-1 and BS 5467; low-smoke halogen-free versions to BS 6724 and BS 7211; 450/750 V building wires to IEC 60227 and BS 6004. If your specification cites a standard not listed here, send it — we will confirm whether it can be met before quoting.
What sizes and core configurations are available?
Power cables from 1.5 to 300 mm², single-core up to five-core, with equal section or reduced neutral — tell us which your project requires. Building wires from 1.5 to 240 mm².
Should I specify SWA or STA?
Steel wire armour (SWA) is the Gulf default for low-voltage armoured cables. Steel tape (STA) is available and is usually cheaper, but it is a different construction and not a like-for-like substitute. We will always confirm which you need before pricing, because the two do not cost the same.
Is the cable suitable for Gulf climate conditions?
Yes. We specify a UV-resistant outer sheath, and current-carrying capacities are corrected for an ambient of 45–50°C rather than quoted at the temperate assumptions used in many catalogue datasheets. Ask us for the corrected figures for your sizes.
Can you supply under our own brand?
Yes — OEM and private label, including drum marking, label design and custom packaging. Standard constructions, or manufactured to your own drawing and specification.
What are the MOQ, lead time and payment terms?
These follow the specification, the quantity and the destination, so they are confirmed together with your quotation rather than fixed in advance. MOQ is flexible for trial orders — if you are testing a new supplier, say so and we will price it that way.
Where do you ship from, and on what terms?
Chinese ports, on FOB, CIF, EXW or DDP terms. The loading port and freight are confirmed in your quotation based on destination.
